The finished version of the Time War version of the Eighth Doctor, done in acrylic gouache and ink. Yes, his clock in the corner is broken. Poor Eight... I finally have prints and tshirts available here! www.redbubble.com/people/raine…
Eight is my Top fave of the Classic Doctors and his audio dramas should be heard by all and that brilliant man deserves his own series animated or otherwise!!!!!!! I need to see his adventures with Charlie and Lucie and all the rest on screen!!!!
I have'nt even watched the tv movie and I can say that I think 8 is an amazing doctor, seriously night of the doctor just sold me on him and I wish I had enough money to buy the audiobooks atm.
I loved John Hurt as the war doctor but I really think 8 should've had the role, it would've shown just how bad the time war was and how it'd twisted him without us having to see the bloody details, and in a meta way it would've worked as well, he was the doctor everyone seems to forget.
Showing one of the happiest doctors just turn so bad would've been amazing and his acting in Night sold me that he could pull it off fantastically.
I agree with you there that Paul McGann's Doctor should have been the "War Doctor" (though I really loved John Hurt's character as well.) It would have been such an amazing character arc for him having that tragedy of ending the Time War. I think his Doctor (and McGann) had the gravitas for it (after everything Big Finish put him through.) A very big and dramatic missed opportunity.
I also agree that the Big Finish audios are a little pricey for my budget right now. I've mostly listened to borrowed copies. But they are WONDERFUL.
Also, the Sixth Doctor finally gets to shine in Big Finish and show how awesome he is.
Thank you so much! Eight has been one of my three favorite Doctors for years, and I always had to explain myself to other Whovians who just knew the TV movie. "But there's Big Finish! And the novels..."
Thank goodness for Night of the Doctor. "See? See? Isn't he awesome?"
